Ok this blog is not what your probably thinking about. The massive amounts of turnovers in the first two games or the offense struggling. Nope, I need to voice my opinion to the people who just seem to crucify Vick for his actions that put him in prison. It seems to be a topic that some people will not let go.
My opinion on what he did is this. What he did to those animals were horrendous, disgusting and just not right. Most people would never think about doing something like that to dogs. It was wrong. Flat out. But do I forgive him? Yes. Nobody is perfect. Everyone has done something wrong in their lives and made mistakes. Now some argue that killing is dogs the way he did was no mistake and he knew what he was doing. Well, maybe. But I can almost guarantee that those same people didn’t grow up the way he did in his kind of environment and culture. If you teach your kids from birth to look both ways before they cross the street then guess what, that’s what they know and that’s what they will do.
Mike Vick grew up in this. It’s what he knew. Right or wrong, it’s what he knew. He got caught and learned the hard way that it was wrong. And he was punished by the law and did his time. Now he’s in the public’s eye more then ever because of it. He lost everything. Filed for bankruptcy. Now he’s working with the Humane Society to speak out against the very things he once done. To try and protect animals from being treated the way he once treated them.
All I can say is Vick is doing the right things. He has done his time in prison. He has done everything that has been asked of him. He’s doing what he can to correct as much of his past as he can. And I applaud him for that. Not because some will say I have no morals or I support what Vick did. None of the crazy nonsense. I just think it takes a lot of guts to go through what he did and do what he’s doing in the public’s eye. How many of these people that condemn him can say they could honestly do the same? How perfect are their lives to be able to sit back and judge another’s life the way Vick has been judged? Man, I wish I sat on gold in the clouds the way those people do. Because last I checked, their is only one true judge and jury. And here is a hint if you don’t know who that is. It’s not you!
